Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety across multiple project sites within its Zero Injury Safety program. You will oversee safety leadership, orientation, and training, including electrical safety programs, while mentoring junior safety staff and coordinating with engineers and coordinators.

The role requires strong communication, public speaking, and leadership skills, with travel up to 100% and a focus on proactive safety measures and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in safety or equivalent and at least six years in construction safety.
• CHST certification or OSHA 500 with strong field leadership is acceptable to substitute degree.
• Must have current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Zero Injury Safety program across multiple sites.
• Lead site-specific safety programs and electrical safety training.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subs.
• Mentor Safety staff and coordinate with Safety Engineers.
• Maintain safety metrics, OSHA reports, and incident analyses.
• Conduct safety audits and major incident investigations.
