Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety initiatives across multiple construction sites under the Zero Injury Safety program. The role emphasizes professional leadership, training delivery, and proactive safety management.

Ideal candidates bring six+ years of construction safety experience, CSP preferred, and strong communication skills to drive safety culture and compliance on diverse project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
• Current driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership across multiple project sites within Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program.
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs and activities.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training, including train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors.
• Mentor Safety staff and ensure OSHA reporting and incident analysis.
• Conduct safety audits and major incident analyses; monitor subcontractor safety activities.
