Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites in the United States. The role focuses on ensuring a safe environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors on construction sites, with duties spanning safety program administration, audits, and incident analysis.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field, or a substantial alternative experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Alternate: high school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500, and 10 years construction safety leadership experience.
• Minimum of four years in construction safety.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including training.
• Document, track, and analyze safety violations and loss data.
• Lead OSHA reporting and monitor subcontractor activities.
• Record and analyze injury, hazard statistics; maintain safety equipment.
