Job summary

Wilson Construction Company, a premier utility contractor in the U.S., seeks a Safety Inspector to uphold the highest safety standards at Ely, NV-based field sites with regular travel. You will ensure compliance with OSHA and company programs, lead safety meetings, and coordinate audits and training for field crews.

The role requires at least 5 years in safety programs, including high-voltage exposure, and credentials such as CUSP, First Aid/CPR, and CDL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting or leading safety programs, including at least 3 years in high voltage transmission and distribution.
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) with background in electric transmission and distribution utility services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification and CDL with Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend morning tailboard meetings to cover daily safety topics and set a strong example by following safety practices and proper PPE usage.
• Perform a minimum of one safety audit per crew using the iAuditor app and implement immediate corrective actions for noncompliance.
• Conduct safety orientations and training for new and returning employees; coordinate drug testing and oversee fall protection and equipment certification tracking.
• Investigate all incidents and near-miss reports, file required documentation, and evaluate Human Performance Improvement (HPI) utilization.
• Review audit results, accidents, near-misses, and safety suggestions with leadership and discuss trends for program improvements.
