Job summary

Wilson Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Safety Inspector to ensure site compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations and the company safety program.

You will lead audits, provide training, and work with the Director of Safety to improve performance and prevent incidents. Responsibilities include incident investigations, administering fall protection and PPE programs, drug testing coordination, and maintaining crew certifications.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum experience supporting or leading safety programs.
• Three years minimum experience in high voltage electrical transmission and distribution.
• CUSP certification with background in Electric transmission and distribution.
• Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA laws and regulations.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to work outside and travel.
• Effective communication with diverse staff and personalities.
• Must have CDL and Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend tailboard meetings and cover daily safety topics.
• Perform safety audits per crew using the iAuditor app.
• Implement immediate corrective action for noncompliance.
• Evaluate safety performance and provide guidance and training.
• Review audit results with foremen and discuss trends and suggestions.
• Conduct safety orientations and training for new/former employees.
• Coordinate new hire drug testing.
• Administer fall protection and fit testing programs.
• Ensure operators have required certificates and review equipment safety reports.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and file reports.
• Meet management to discuss accidents and safety improvements.
