Job summary

Wilson Construction Company seeks a Safety Inspector to ensure field operations comply with all applicable safety regulations and the company safety program. The role involves regular travel to regional field locations, collaborating with crews, project management, and leadership to foster a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility safety programs, with 3 years in high voltage transmission and distribution.
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) with electric transmission background.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification and a valid CDL and Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety meetings and review job sites, incidents, near-misses, and best practices.
• Conduct safety audits per crew per day using SiteDocs and immediate corrective actions for noncompliance.
• Lead safety orientations and training, coordinate drug testing, oversee fall protection, fit testing, and equipment certification tracking.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, document findings and evaluate Human Performance Improvement principles.
• Review audit results and safety trends with field leadership and management for continuous improvement.
