Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site. This role requires leadership in safety program administration and a strong focus on hazard prevention.

The Senior Safety Engineer I will drive OSHA compliance, conduct safety audits, and collaborate with client safety personnel and risk engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• CHST Certification and OSHA 500 with 10 years construction safety experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.
• Current valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including training.
• Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, analyze loss data.
• Lead OSHA reporting and review subcontractor safety activities.
• Record and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
• Provide safety information and evaluate industrial hygiene concerns.
• Attend safety meetings and assist with major incident analysis.
• Collaborate with client safety personnel and risk engineers.
• Maintain safety equipment and build cross‑functional relationships
