Job summary

Chugach Electric Association is seeking a senior safety professional to lead and manage the company's safety programs across regulatory compliance and operations. You will collaborate with management to develop, implement, and continually improve safety policies, trainings, and incident prevention strategies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field, CSP or CIH certification within a year, and at least five years of supervisory safety experience in industrial or utility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field required.
• CSP or CIH certification must be obtained within one year.
• Minimum five years of progressive safety and supervisory experience.
• Experience in industrial hygiene, incident investigations, and safety education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement safety programs for regulatory compliance.
• Manage, maintain, and improve company safety initiatives.
• Partner with management to develop and assess safety programs.
• Consult with supervision and employees on safety practices.
• Conduct field visits, audits, and safety inspections; report findings.
• Provide safety support for high-risk activities and risk controls.
• Lead hazard assessments and safety analysis activities.
• Assist in accident investigations and root cause analysis.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, science, engineering or related discipline

CSP or CIH certification
