Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions seeks an experienced ESH Manager to lead environmental, safety, and health programs across contractual activities. You will develop and implement plans, train staff, and coordinate with customers to ensure compliance and a strong safety culture.

You will manage safety officers, track metrics, and drive risk reduction while maintaining regulatory alignment and transparent communication with leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety/environmental or a related field; 10+ years in ESH role.
• 15+ years in safety/environmental management without a Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years of managing ESH personnel.
• HAZWOPER training/certification.
• Ability to tailor ESH plans to site requirements (JHA, lift, spill prevention, etc.).
• Commitment to staying current on ESH standards and resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication; policy drafting and training.
• Proficient in labor management, cost tracking, and resource optimization.
• U.S. Citizenship; pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for contract safety, environmental, and health (ESH) issues.
• Coordinate with customer ESH representative to ensure best practices across work activities.
• Implement and maintain safety training programs for site employees.
• Develop and implement ESH plans aligned with customer and company requirements.
• Manage SDS tracking and access in coordination with Program Manager.
• Monitor indicators and drive improvements in DART/LTIR and incident reduction.
• Foster a strong safety culture through education, awareness, and audits.
• Lead incident investigations, near-miss reports, training, and recordkeeping.
• Lead audits to ensure ongoing compliance with processes and policies.
• Manage an online safety records system for incident and training data.
• Develop and oversee emergency response programs and PPE/equipment plans.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and dedicate field time for education and inspections.
