Role Description

The Line Operations - Maintenance and Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Anchorage Area. This position oversees day-to-day line operations activities, including planning, coordinating, and directing maintenance and construction of electric transmission and distribution systems. The manager leads field crews, assigns work, monitors progress, and ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Responsibilities include managing outage response, reviewing work orders, prioritizing system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, standards, and company policies. The role also requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to support reliable service, communicate project impacts, and address member concerns. The manager regularly reviews performance metrics, implements process improvements, and supports training and development for line operations personnel.


Qualifications


  • Strong Operations Management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and optimizing line maintenance and construction activities.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Maintenance of electric utility infrastructure, with knowledge of transmission and distribution systems and safety practices.

  • Proven Project Management abilities to lead construction and maintenance projects from scope through completion, managing schedules, budgets, and resources.

  • Effective Team Management skills, with experience supervising field crews, promoting safety culture, and supporting training and performance development.

  • Commitment to high-quality Customer Service, including clear communication with internal stakeholders and members regarding outages, projects, and service impacts.

  • Relevant experience in electric utility or comparable industry; familiarity with OSHA regulations and utility safety standards is highly beneficial.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond to operational issues and emergencies in the field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in using computer-based tools for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
