Job summary
East Coast Warehouse & Distr Corp is seeking a Senior Director of Safety to lead enterprise-wide safety, compliance, and risk management across all terminals and locations.
You will drive a proactive safety culture, oversee regulatory programs, audits, and incident investigations, and partner with executive leadership to set safety KPIs and cost controls. This role demands strategic vision and strong stakeholder management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field
- 8–10+ years in transportation/trucking safety
- 5+ years in leadership across multiple locations
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA regulations
- Experience with DOT audits, litigation support, and insurance claims
- Proficiency with fleet management/ELD/safety software
Responsibilities
- Design, lead, and continuously improve enterprise safety program across all terminals and locations
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, and state trucking regs
- Oversee safety managers at each location and drive training and performance management
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Coordinate training, onboarding, and certification fleet-wide
- Prepare safety reports and strategic recommendations for executives
