Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a senior Environmental, Health & Safety leader to plan, develop, and manage corporate safety programs across multiple states. You will drive a safety-first culture, oversee audits, training, and reporting while ensuring regulatory compliance and process improvements.

You will guide leadership on safety initiatives, manage field compliance, and participate in performance reviews and hiring for safety roles. This role blends strategy with hands-on program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience in EH&S including people management.
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training, preferred.
• OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety laws, regulations, policies and procedures, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and health and safety management systems and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and manages corporate environmental, health and safety protection programs for the assigned division.
• Establishes and maintains a safety-driven culture throughout the division.
• Manages safety audits and inspections and recommends corrections for compliance across the division.
• Develops and maintains employee safety training programs and records.
• Develops reports and presentations for safety briefings with company management.
• Provides direction to improve EH&S performance and minimize risks.
• Ensures compliance with safety manuals, policies, and regulations across locations.
• Provides coaching and participates in annual performance processes.
• Oversees recruitment and hiring for safety roles.
