Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a Senior SaaS Systems Administrator in New York, NY to lead the administration, reliability, and continuous improvement of our SaaS platform stack. You will be the primary escalation point for complex admin-level incidents and a technical steward of applications, integrations, and operational practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration, systems engineering, SaaS administration, or a related IT operations role.
• Professional experience administering enterprise SaaS applications, including identity and access management, permissions, configuration, troubleshooting, integrations, and application lifecycle processes.
• Experience serving as an escalation point for complex technical incidents, including root‑cause analysis, coordination, remediation, and prevention of recurring issues.
• Strong systems‑administration fundamentals across identity, email servers, authentication, directory services, collaboration platforms, endpoint environments, or server administration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administration and ongoing improvement of a broad portfolio of SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Slack, Glean, Figma, Airtable, Coda, Miro, Trint, etc.).
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex application, access, configuration, identity, and integration incidents.
• Establish and maintain standards for user and group access, permissions, app configuration, lifecycle management, integrations, and controls in partnership with security and IT.
• Serve as technical steward of the SaaS portfolio by defining ownership, documenting dependencies, and assessing operational risk.
• Design and improve repeatable processes, automation, monitoring, and documentation for scalable administration.
• Collaborate with vendors and teams to evaluate new applications and manage changes and releases.
