Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the technical vision for Ford Pro Intelligence Telematics. You will design data-intensive SaaS platforms, APIs, and frontends, guiding multiple teams across Ford Engineering. The role demands strong architectural leadership and hands-on development.

You will mentor engineers, shape product strategy with leadership, and drive scalable patterns, tooling, and delivery standards in a high-scale cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 12 years of software engineering experience, including leadership and architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing scalable data-intensive web apps and SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development with Java/Kotlin and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and high-volume data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale SaaS applications.
• Mentor and coach engineers across teams to uphold engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business leaders to translate requirements into scalable architecture.
• Scope, estimate, and blueprint complex multi-quarter initiatives.
• Lead hands-on development of core architectural components and services.
