Job summary

Alignerr is hiring a senior Rust engineer to design, build, and optimize high-performance Rust systems powering AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows. You will develop backend services and CLI tools for annotation, validation, and quality control in a fully remote contract role.

You should have 5+ years writing production-grade Rust, experience with type-safe DB interactions, and be comfortable working asynchronously with distributed teams 20–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Rust.
• Experience building high-performance backend services and robust CLI tools.
• Experience with type-safe database interactions and connection pooling.
• Able to commit 20–40 hours per week with reliability and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Rust systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack backend services and CLI tooling for data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing Rust codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation infrastructure.
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior, implementing scalable fixes.
• Participate in design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions.
