Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Back End Developer for a fully remote hourly contract to design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs that power AI products, from data pipelines to scalable microservices handling real-world traffic.

You will work with Python/Go/Java/Node.js/Rust, RESTful APIs, databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Expect asynchronous collaboration with distributed teams across time zones.

Qualifications

• Proficient in RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Cloud familiarity (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container tooling (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Version control and CI/CD pipelines; strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code following best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and 3rd-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed engineers and researchers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task- or project-based assignments on your schedule.
