Winixx in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Runtime Engineer to help shape a new language runtime and its ARC memory model for high-performance targets. The role focuses on deterministic memory management, low latency, and cross-language interop with Kotlin/Java in an AOSP-like environment.
You will design the ARC runtime, optimize retain/release paths, and collaborate with the Compiler Frontend to ensure ownership rules are correctly enforced.
Atlanta, GA, US Hybrid Full-time $145,000 – $210,000
Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 35 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. We are building WinixxOS — a distinctive, AOSP-based operating system powering a full lineup of consumer hardware — and, over a multi-year horizon, .wnx, a proprietary programming language designed to be announced alongside WinixxOS. This is founding-team language engineering: you would be shaping the core type system, memory model, and syntax of a new language from its very first version, not extending someone else's spec.
The Senior Runtime Engineer builds .wnx's Automatic Reference Counting (ARC) memory model and runtime — the deterministic, low-latency memory management system that underpins performance-sensitive targets like console and POS.
Winixx Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate all applicants on the basis of qualifications, experience, and demonstrated ability without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
This is a full-time position with a minimum one-year commitment, on a multi-year (5-year horizon) language development effort. Visa sponsorship is available for candidates with the right qualifications and experience.
The compensation range reflected in this posting represents the minimum and maximum target range for this position. Individual pay within the posted range is determined by a candidate's demonstrated experience, educational background, skill set, and geographic location.
