About Winixx

Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 35 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. We are building WinixxOS — a distinctive, AOSP-based operating system powering a full lineup of consumer hardware — and, over a multi-year horizon, .wnx, a proprietary programming language designed to be announced alongside WinixxOS. This is founding-team language engineering: you would be shaping the core type system, memory model, and syntax of a new language from its very first version, not extending someone else's spec.

Role Summary

The Senior Compiler Frontend Engineer builds the lexer, parser, and type checker at the core of .wnx — including the compile-time device-class targeting system that lets the compiler catch device-specific API misuse (like a POS payment call in watch-targeted code) before it ever ships.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement the .wnx lexer, parser, and type checker
• Build the compile-time device-class targeting system into the type system
• Own semantic analysis and diagnostic quality — clear, actionable compiler errors are a core language feature, not an afterthought
• Collaborate with the language lead on syntax design decisions and their implementation implications
• Work with the ARC/Runtime team to ensure the type system correctly models ownership and reference semantics
• Contribute to the LLVM IR lowering pipeline once the frontend hands off to codegen
• Write and maintain the formal language specification as it evolves

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in compiler engineering, with direct experience building a parser and type checker (professionally or on a substantial open-source language/compiler project)
• Strong understanding of type theory and static analysis techniques
• Familiarity with LLVM as a compiler backend is a strong plus
• Experience designing developer-facing error messages and diagnostics
• Comfortable working on foundational, multi-year language infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
