Job summary

Winixx Inc. is building WinixxOS and a new language, .wnx. We seek a Compiler Frontend Engineer to shape the core type system, memory model, and syntax from its first version.

You will implement the lexer, parser, and type checker, test components, and help write the language’s specification while collaborating with senior engineers on a multi-year architecture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in compiler or interpreter engineering or equivalent project work.
• Knowledge of parsing techniques and type-checking fundamentals.
• Experience with modern compiler internals (Kotlin, Swift, Rust or similar).

About Winixx

Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 35 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. We are building WinixxOS — a distinctive, AOSP-based operating system powering a full lineup of consumer hardware — and, over a multi-year horizon, .wnx, a proprietary programming language designed to be announced alongside WinixxOS. This is founding-team language engineering: you would be shaping the core type system, memory model, and syntax of a new language from its very first version, not extending someone else's spec.

Role Summary

The Compiler Frontend Engineer implements and tests components of the .wnx lexer, parser, and type checker, working alongside senior engineers to build out the language's core semantic analysis.

What You'll Do

• Implement and test components of the lexer, parser, and type checker
• Support the device-class targeting system's type-level implementation
• Write compiler test suites covering syntax, type-checking, and diagnostic behavior
• Fix bugs and edge cases identified through internal dogfooding of the language
• Contribute to language specification documentation

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in compiler or interpreter engineering, or comparable coursework/project experience with a real implementation to show for it
• Working knowledge of parsing techniques and type-checking fundamentals
• Familiarity with at least one modern language's compiler internals (Kotlin, Swift, Rust, or similar)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

The compensation range reflected in this posting represents the minimum and maximum target range for this position. Individual pay within the posted range is determined by a candidate's demonstrated experience, educational background, skill set, and geographic location. Final compensation is established at the time of offer and may fall anywhere within the stated range based on these factors.
