Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Autonomous Systems Engineer to design, build, and integrate robotics software across the full stack. You will work on real-time perception, localization, mapping, and motion planning for autonomous platforms, collaborating with product, design, engineering, and operations.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in robotics software, strong C++ and Python, and hands-on ROS/ROS 2 experience, plus a track record shipping production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS 2 in production projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python with real-time performance.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines (cameras, LiDAR, IMUs).
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping including SLAM and sensor fusion.
• Develop motion planning and trajectory generation respecting constraints.
• Build behavioral systems using state machines or planners.
• Integrate ROS/ROS 2 with hardware and embedded systems.
• Implement safety-critical patterns and watchdogs.
• Build simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and ML engineers to meet requirements.
• Design and execute field tests and post-test analysis.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical maturity.
• Evaluate emerging robotics technologies and recommend actions.
