Job summary

Samsung Research America's Robot Intelligence Lab seeks a Senior Simulation Software Engineer to design and scale our cloud-hosted, high-performance robotics simulation pipeline. You will work on Python, C++, and Rust components, integrate with IsaacSim, Gazebo, and PyBullet, and partner with researchers to advance autonomous robotic systems.

This role requires a MS degree and 5+ years in robotics R&D, strong Linux proficiency, and experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and scalable cloud services.

Qualifications

• MS degree in CS/EE/Robotics or equivalent.
• 5+ years of robotics R&D experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ with Linux-based software development.
• Experience with robotics simulation frameworks (IsaacSim, Gazebo, PyBullet or MuJoCo).
• Familiarity with URDF, SDFormat or USD scene formats.
• Experience designing software components and defining interfaces in complex systems.
• Experience with cloud-hosted services and data pipelines.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Ability to maintain engineering practices while supporting fast-moving research.
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python, C++ and Rust components of a robotics simulation pipeline including asset conversion, asset management, simulation harness, cloud deployment, telemetry, replay, evaluations and tests.
• Own developed software components through lifecycle from concept to prototype to production availability.
• Profile and optimize code to improve simulation latency and throughput.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop robotics algorithms in simulation.
• Contribute to engineering roadmap for the Robot Intelligence Lab.
• Maintain release workflow and cadence for partner teams.
• Support reproducible AI development environments and cloud-based training workflows.
