Samsung Research America is seeking a Senior Simulation Software Engineer to design and scale a cloud-hosted, high-performance robotics simulation pipeline in Mountain View, CA.

You will work with world-class AI researchers to translate novel manipulation, locomotion, and perception models into robust, scalable software. The role emphasizes GPU-accelerated simulations, cloud deployment, and end-to-end software ownership.

Qualifications

• MS degree in CS/EE/Robotics or equivalent.
• 5+ years of robotics R&D experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C++, with Linux-based software experience.
• Experience with robotics simulation frameworks (IsaacSim, Gazebo, PyBullet, MuJoCo).
• Familiarity with URDF, SDFormat or USD scene formats.
• Experience designing software components and interfaces within complex systems.
• Experience developing or integrating with cloud-hosted services and data pipelines.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Ability to establish maintainable engineering practices while supporting fast-moving research.
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python, C++ and Rust components of a robotics simulation pipeline including asset conversion, asset management, simulation harness, cloud deployment, telemetry, replay, evaluations and comprehensive tests
• Own developed software components through entire lifecycle from concept to prototype to general internal availability
• Profile and optimize code performance to improve simulation latency and throughput
• Collaborate with researchers and research engineers to develop cutting edge robotics algorithms across various embodiments in simulation
• Collaborate on engineering roadmap development for the Robot Intelligence Lab
• Maintain release workflow and regular release cadence for partner teams
• Support reproducible AI development environments and cloud-based training workflows in collaboration with researchers
