Job summary

Anduril Industries is a defense tech company delivering advanced autonomy, perception, and planning for autonomous vehicles. The Staff Robotics Engineer leads the design, development, and integration of perception and planning capabilities across platforms, acting as a senior IC and team lead while ensuring end-to-end system safety and performance.

The role requires 7+ years in C++/Python, experience with AV sensors, CV, SLAM, ML, and collaboration across software, mechanical and systems teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of C++/Python software development.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors (radar, LiDAR, cameras).
• Knowledge in computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, machine learning.
• Senior perception or planning role for robotic systems delivery.
• Technical owner for a system including requirements, roadmap, design, sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year software roadmap spanning multiple teams.
• Deliver capabilities beyond current platforms with clear architecture evolution.
• Lead interfaces with diverse external systems and technologies.
• Architect, design and implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness.
• Develop sensor suites, perception/planning algorithms, and test fixtures for safe operation.
• Perform high-impact IC work across the perception and planning stack.
• Apply vision, sensor fusion, and ML to enhance perception and planning.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineers for integration and testing.
• Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users.
