Job summary

Volkert Inc. seeks a Roadway Senior Project Manager for the Southwest Region, with locations across Texas including Austin, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio.

You will lead project execution, monitoring, and control, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards align with TxDOT processes. The role requires a PE in Texas, 15+ years of experience, and proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• PE in Texas.
• 15+ years of relevant experience utilizing TxDOT specific processes, manuals, or guidance.
• Proficient with OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Prepares a Project Execution Plan (PEP) with team organization and schedule.
• Holds kickoff meetings and ensures quality control reviews are documented.
• Maintains client contact, leads staff meetings, and reviews monthly progress.
• Evaluates scope changes, budgets, and schedules, and negotiates fees as needed.
• Reviews invoicing, maintains ARs, and supports business development efforts.
