Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Roadway Senior Project Manager to support the Southwest Region, with roles available in Austin, El Paso, Houston, McKinney, Rockwall, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Tyler, TX. You will lead project execution, monitoring and control activities, including developing a Project Execution Plan, coordinating with clients, and ensuring timely invoicing and AR/WIP management.

Requires a B.S.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Texas PE license (P.E.).
• 15+ years of relevant experience using TxDOT processes, manuals, or guidance.
• Proficient with OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a Project Execution Plan (PEP) outlining team, tasks, schedule and manpower.
• Lead project kick-off meeting with project team members.
• Ensure Quality Control reviews are performed and documented.
• Notify accounting when project is ready for close and retain files per policy.
• Maintain direct client contact to discuss technical and scheduling issues.
• Conduct staff meetings to review progress and coordinate within the team.
• Prepare monthly project progress reports and revenue-related reviews.
• Evaluate scope changes impact on budgets and schedules; negotiate fees.
• Review invoicing documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain client accounts including ARs.
