Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Roadway Senior Project Manager to support the Southwest Region across Austin, El Paso, Houston, McKinney, Rockwall, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Tyler, TX.

The role focuses on leading project execution, monitoring, control, and client coordination for major roadway projects. Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering, a Texas PE, 15+ years of TxDOT‑driven experience, and proficiency with OpenRoads Designer.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• PE in Texas.
• 15+ years of relevant experience utilizing TxDOT specific processes, manuals, or guidance.
• Proficient with OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Prepares a Project Execution Plan (PEP) detailing team, tasks, schedule, and manpower.
• Holds project kick-off meetings and ensures Quality Control reviews are documented.
• Notifies accounting when the project is ready for closure and retains documentation.
• Is responsive to clients, conducts project staff meetings, and reviews progress with the team.
• Prepares monthly project reviews and status reports; reviews Revenue Summary Reports including AR and WIP.
• Ensures design changes comply with standards and negotiates scope changes with clients; supports invoicing and AR management.
• Provides input in business development and maintains client relationships.
