Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region in Houston, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Tyler, TX.

You will lead roadway design efforts, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure projects meet DOT standards and budgets. The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, 8–12 years of roadway design experience, PE licensure, and proficiency in OpenRoads Designer.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in roadway design.
• Must have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules and budgets.
• PE licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with calculating plans quantities and engineering estimates; develop construction specs and coordinate with subconsultants.
• Lead or assist in development of project designs and direct EIs and designers to deliver work.
• Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and schedules for projects.
• Work in a team environment and participate in business development efforts with clients.
