Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 or two years in lead work on highway maintenance or construction.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Direct crews in the use of heavy equipment and hand tools for highway maintenance.
• Plan and supervise maintenance operations including patching, drainage, sweeping, and emergency response.
• Review road conditions, investigate complaints, and set work priorities.
• Select traffic control setups and promote crew and public safety.
• Interview, train, and guide employees in daily and long-term tasks.
• Make field adjustments to vehicles and equipment.
