Job summary

The Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Equipment Manager 2 to lead maintenance across McKean, Potter, and Cameron Counties. You will oversee equipment repairs, facilities, and staff, ensuring operational readiness through hands-on leadership and daily collaboration.

You will manage schedules, training, and reporting while guiding crews toward high performance in a complex regional environment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as Highway Equipment Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title).
• Three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines and other components of heavy highway maintenance and construction vehicles and equipment including two years of such experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Prepare schedules and oversee preventative care for vehicles and facilities.
• Inspection Oversight: Inspect equipment to identify needed repairs or replacements.
• Training Coordination: Manage operator training, testing and certification activities.
• Inventory Management: Monitor usage and maintain detailed records of tools and equipment.
• Report Preparation: Supervise the creation of time, progress, and equipment reports.
• Personnel Leadership: Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and guide staff development.
