Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead field inspection of roadway and bridge work in Atlanta, GA. You will document deficiencies, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with project specifications while coordinating with IQF and DV teams.

Responsibilities include performing bridge and OV inspections, writing reports, and supervising OV audits. A valid US driver’s license and the ability to work diverse shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with three years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree plus eight years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma and fifteen years of inspection experience.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection, including heavy civil, bridge, roadway.
• Knowledge of specifications, materials, and equipment used in highway/bridge construction.
• Strong math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).
• Ability to read complex construction plans and reports.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions.
• Commitment to safety in construction environments.
• Valid US Driver's License and pass MVR.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge work, ensuring contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work in progress against specifications.
• Provide mentorship and review junior team members’ work for QA.
• Prepare inspections and written reports for bridge and OV activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians performing OV audits.
• Act as SME on Developer activities, including remediation reviews.
• Monitor on-site activities and inspect materials per plans and provisions.
• Oversee sampling and testing per CQAP.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve issues and track QA data.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer contractor and IQF.
