Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to assist Senior Inspectors with on-site oversight in Atlanta, GA. The role involves reviewing plans, monitoring quality, and conducting field audits across roadways and structures.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering education or equivalent experience, strong plan-reading skills, and relevant GDOT certifications. Night and weekend work may be required; a valid US driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have formal civil engineering education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Proficiency with computers and documentation tools.
• Valid US Driver’s License and MVR clean record.
• Certifications from GDOT or other agencies may substitute as allowed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors with construction oversight and inspections.
• Review plans, specs, and shop drawings for accuracy.
• Monitor activities for quality and spec conformance.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage per project requirements.
• Observe material sampling/testing processes ( soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete ).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold safety practices in all construction activities.
