Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead field oversight of roadway and bridge construction in the Atlanta area.

The role requires inspecting materials and workmanship daily, mentoring junior staff, and delivering written QA reports. Strong knowledge of specs, plans reading, and safety is essential, with a valid US driver's license. Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent combination of education and extensive inspection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent plus years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Alternate combinations of education and years of experience acceptable.
• States required safety focus and knowledge of specs, standards, and materials.
• Familiarity with DOT inspection methods and plans reading encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies and communicate adjustments to meet contract specs.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and material workmanship.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work for QA.
• Provide inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Serve as SME on Developer activities including remediation reviews.
• Monitor on-site activities and inspect materials per plans and provisions.
• Oversee sampling/testing verification under CQAP and project schedules.
• Ensure material certification meets Final Acceptance requirements.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain required documentation.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Tech

High school diploma or equivalent

Progressive roadway and bridge inspection experience

Safety practices awareness

Valid US Driver's License

Tools

GDOT tests knowledge

Assure-It / e-Builder familiarity
