Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a candidate to inspect and monitor construction activities at the project site(s). Inspector must be able to perform the most complex inspection activities for at least 2 of the 5 categories of construction inspection: roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion & control, maintenance & traffic.

Qualifications

• English communication in verbal and written form.
• Intermediate arithmetic skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to quickly learn new computer or mobile apps.
• Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment in highway construction.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contracts, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes meet plans and provisions.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under varying supervision depending on assignment scope.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections and document results.
