Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking an On-site Field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. You will inspect traffic control, materials, and construction methods at various project sites across multiple states.

You'll work under supervision, review contractor QC procedures, and help ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt and concrete if required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect traffic control, environment, layout, methods, and materials under direct supervision.
• Review contractor daily reports and QC procedures; verify conformance with QC Plan.
• Review material testing results and quantities; may sample and test soils, base, concrete and asphalt.
