Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas is seeking a Night Shift RN in a full-time Med/Surg unit. You will coordinate patient care, assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient responses under Texas Nursing Practice Act, delegating tasks appropriately.

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, licensed in Texas (RN) or compact, with BLS. Two years of nursing experience preferred, acute care experience preferred; opportunity to precept and serve as charge nurse.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing, or valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA/ARC/ Military Training Network.
• Two years of nursing experience; acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as patient advocate and coordinates care with the health care team.
• Maintains compliance with applicable laws, policies, and accreditation standards.
• Develops and updates care plans; documents accurately and timely.
• Precepts and may serve as a Charge Nurse on rotation.
• Identifies process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
