Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control Consultant to partner with Underwriting and service large, complex accounts. You will evaluate hazards, advise on controls, and write risk assessments across multiple industries. The role requires travel, on-site client engagement, and a strong background in safety, risk management, or related fields.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable.
• Bachelor's or graduate degree in EH&S, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, onsite approximately 20%–50% of the time.
• Travel to customers, including long-distance and overnight trips.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain and grow a profitable book.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers.
• Complete risk assessments for diverse, high-complexity accounts.
• Write technically detailed risk assessment reports with recommendations.
• Identify customer needs through loss analysis to provide Risk Control products.
• Provide risk mitigation solutions using Travelers resources.
• Stay current with technical subjects and regulatory environment.
• Create a valued customer experience through assessments.
