Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks a Right of Way Director to oversee the ROW department with a focus on strategy, budgeting, staffing, and project delivery. The role requires strong leadership, client development, and cross-department coordination to meet complex ROW challenges.

Desirable candidates have 15+ years ROW experience, supervisory background, and a real estate license or ability to obtain one within 3 months. Remote Midwest siting is available with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent ROW experience.
• 15+ years of ROW experience in land/easement/title work.
• Minimum 5 years of ROW supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of ROW, project management, budgeting, permitting, and regulatory issues.
• Experience managing financial, marketing, HR, and operations for an engineering department.
• Experience reading construction/engineering plans.
• MS Office suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• Valid driver's license in the relevant state; driving record acceptable.
• Multilingual is a plus.
• Professional real estate license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the ROW department, including strategy, budgeting, staffing, and deliverables.
• Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to win new clients and strengthen relationships.
• Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, establish budgets and schedules.
• Supervise ROW project personnel and ensure high professional standards.
• Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements and serve as technical advisor on projects.
