Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. RFIC Layout Designer to lead the layout discipline for RFIC designs, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver full‑chip layouts of analog and RFIC blocks for space and ground systems.

You will drive floorplanning, parasitic control, and tape-out readiness in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of IC layout experience or 8+ years without a degree, with strong analog/RF layout skills and proficiency in Linux and scripting.

Qualifications

• Strong analog layout and RF block knowledge required.
• Experience with advanced node IC layouts (22nm/16nm/7nm/5nm).
• Familiarity with high-frequency RF circuit layouts up to 50GHz.
• Experience with layout of sensitive RF blocks (LNA, VCO, mixers).
• Experience with scripting and software tools for layout workflows.
• Experience with version control systems and Linux.
• Excellent communication and independent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine chip floor plan with IC designers; plan power/ground and pad locations.
• Estimate layout schedule and flag complex areas early.
• Layout RF and analog blocks with attention to matching and parasitics.
• Perform DRC/ERC/LVS checks and resolve issues.
• Top-level layout integration with ESD structures and pad assembly; tape-out and density fill.
• Collaborate with EDA tool vendors to trial new features.
• Create guides and demos to share layout techniques.
