Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in RF/Microwave design to join our onsite team in Andover, Tewksbury, or Marlborough. You will design RF components and phased array systems, test MMIC modules, and support production with hands-on measurements and analysis.

Applicants should have a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (or a master's/PhD) and be proficient with HFSS, CST, ADS, Genesys, Cadence Virtuoso, and Matlab.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in Microwave/RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test.
• Experience with HFSS, ADS, CST, Genesys, Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Cadence Virtuoso, Matlab.
• Experience performing RF calculations and Cascaded Analysis.
• Background designing and testing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, AGC, amplifier and analog filter design.
• Experience in electrical interconnects and transmission line design.
• Understanding of RF layout techniques from HF to X-Band.
• Understanding EMI analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Strong self-learning and multitasking abilities with good communication.
• RF/Microwave MMIC circuits, modules or test fixtures.
• Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices.
• IC layout and physical verification with Cadence Virtuoso.
• Familiarity with GaAs, GaN, SOI processing concepts.
• Coursework in Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, EM Theory, Radar Systems.
• Hands-on microwave testing with spectrum analyzers, RSAs, VNAs, PNA.
• Technical writing and proposal/presentation experience.
• Master's or PhD in EE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design RF/microwave components and phased array applications.
• Develop insights in RF/Microwave field for new concepts and products.
• Design and test MMICs or module products and test fixtures.
• Integrate and test component and system level phased array hardware.
• Travel to integration sites and customer/subcontractor facilities as needed.
