Job summary

Fidus is a global high-tech design firm with RF/wireless, FPGA/ASIC, and embedded software capabilities. The RF Designer will own complete RF subsystems for client programs, from architecture to validated hardware, and work directly with customers to ensure rigorous modeling and measured results.

You will collaborate with FPGA/DSP, hardware, and SI/PI teams, tackling SatCom, GNSS, radar, and software-defined radio projects. Fully remote role with travel within North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Master's in RF/microwave engineering is an asset.
• 8+ years designing RF and wireless hardware.
• Excellent communication and English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Define RF architecture and frequency plan, including LO/IF, filtering, and clocking.
• Design Tx chains from baseband to up-conversion with PA, output control and protection.
• Design Rx chains with LNA, down-conversion, AGC, and interferer rejection.
• Model and budget system performance: NF, sensitivity, EVM, jitter, and clock phase noise.
• Specify/select filters, mixers, circulators, isolators, couplers, and hybrids; work with vendors.
• Configure RFSoC-based digital path and FIR/interpolation for arbitrary responses.
• Guide RF/microwave PCB layout with SI teams, aiming for first-pass manufacturability.
• Develop test plans and use lab equipment to verify performance and doc designs.
