Job summary

Fidus Systems is seeking an experienced RF Designer to own RF subsystems from architecture to manufacturable hardware. You will collaborate across FPGA/DSP, hardware, embedded software, and verification teams to deliver SatCom payloads, GNSS, radar, and software defined radios.

Remote work with travel within North America is required, and you will discuss designs with clients to ensure rigorous modeling and measurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years designing RF and wireless hardware.
• Familiarity with FDD and TDD techniques.
• Experience with RF schematic capture, PCB layout collaboration, and HW/RF/FPGA integration.

Responsibilities

• Define RF architecture and frequency plan including LO selection and sampling plans.
• Design Tx chains from baseband through up-conversion with PA, filters, and output control.
• Design Rx chains with LNA, down-conversion, AGC, and protection.
• Model and budget system performance: NF, sensitivity, dynamic range, EVM, phase noise and jitter.
• Configure filters, mixers, circulators, isolators, and RF components with vendors.
• Drive RF/microwave PCB layout with SI teams for compliance from outset.
• Develop manufacturable features like calibration hooks and digital correction filters.
• Verify performance with spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and power meters.
