Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Advanced Markets Consultant in Retirement Services to provide regulatory expertise, consultative support, and thought leadership on qualified retirement plan matters.

You will analyze IRC/ERISA provisions and apply them to resolve complex inquiries while supporting internal and external stakeholders. The role requires interpreting retirement plan rules, advising sponsors, and delivering strategic guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of experience with qualified retirement plans and related rules and regulations.
• Experience interpreting and applying IRC and ERISA requirements in operational, consultative, or compliance environments.
• Strong knowledge of retirement plan compliance, operations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve complex issues.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional designations such as CPC, QPA, QKA, ERPA, CEBS or similar are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and interpret IRC, ERISA, and state retirement plan laws to provide accurate consultative support.
• Serve as subject matter expert on qualified retirement plans including plan design and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to internal partners, clients, and sponsors on regulatory requirements.
• Support sponsors using Voya's pre-approved retirement plan document program.
• Recommend remediation strategies and design alternatives balancing regulations and client objectives.
• Consult on complex issues involving mergers, controlled groups, and corporate transactions.
• Provide expertise on fiduciary responsibilities, governance, and regulatory matters.
• Support business opportunities and prospects with technical retirement plan knowledge.
• Develop timely communications on legislative and regulatory developments impacting retirement plans.
• Create educational resources, bulletins, and client communications.
