Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner II for the West Hospital to join our night shift team. You will assess patients, plan and deliver respiratory therapies, and educate patients and families.

The role includes acting as Charge Therapist to ensure adequate staffing and safety for patient care. Required are two years of experience, a current state license, NBRC credential, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional.
• Bachelor’s Degree related to Respiratory Therapy/Healthcare/Healthcare Admin/Business Admin (preferred).
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state worked (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required).
• NRP/CPFT/RPFT/ACCS credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care including oxygen delivery, aerosolized meds, and ventilator care.
• Assess patient condition and document procedures and responses to therapy.
• Serve as Charge Therapist to ensure staffing coverage for shifts.
• Instruct patients and families on therapies and equipment use.
• Monitor patient response and adjust therapies as needed.
