Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will work two 12-hour night shifts, initiating and managing ventilation, monitoring patient response, and adjusting therapy under physician orders.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program and CPR/NRP certification within the specified orientation period, with RRT/CRT eligibility within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• RRT or CRT eligibility within 1 year of hire.
• CPR and NRP within 90 days of orientation; Respiratory Care Practitioner license required in IL/WI.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, monitors, evaluates, and weans invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Performs routine therapies and assesses cardiopulmonary status.
• Documents in the EMR and departmental records.
• Responds to emergent care situations and assists with resuscitation.
• Maintains and troubleshoots respiratory equipment; ensures supplies are stocked.
