Job summary

WSP is seeking a Resident Engineer (Construction Management) to lead field activities for public infrastructure projects in the Seattle/Tacoma area. You will serve as the Owner’s primary field contact, oversee construction administration, schedule monitoring, and documentation, and coordinate with designers, contractors, and regulators.

The role demands 10+ years in CM/CE, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience administering public works contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary field representative for the Owner.
  • Lead construction management activities for transportation, bridge, roadway, utilities, and civil projects.
  • Supervise inspectors, engineers, and document control staff.
  • Review plans, specs, contracts, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and changes.
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with contract requirements and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with design teams on field changes and constructability issues.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete and audit-ready.
