Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Resident Engineer (Construction Management) for Seattle or Tacoma to oversee complex public infrastructure projects across Washington. You will act as the Owner's main field contact, supervise inspectors, review plans and contract documents, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 10+ years in CM/inspection or public works construction.
• Experience as Resident Engineer or equivalent role.
• Experience administering public works construction contracts.
• Strong communication and ability to interpret plans and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary field representative and main Owner contact.
• Lead daily construction administration for transportation and civil projects.
• Supervise inspectors and project staff.
• Review plans, specs, RFIs, submittals, and change requests.
• Monitor contractor performance for safety, schedule, and quality.
• Facilitate progress meetings and coordinate stakeholders.
• Review and recommend progress payments and contract changes.
• Evaluate construction issues and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate with design teams on field changes and constructability.
• Ensure audit-ready project documentation.
