Job summary

The Aspenwood Company in the Greater Houston Area seeks an experienced Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) Specialist who is dedicated, compassionate, and ready to enhance senior living. This role supports medication processes, staffing coordination, and resident care across shifts.

You will train new RCCs, collaborate with nurses, and ensure EMR accuracy and regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate care to residents in a busy community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of resident care experience in a senior living community.
• Delegated by a Registered Nurse for medication administration or Certified Medication Aide.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight at communities.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits to dispose of expired medications, identify refills, and ensure pharmacy follow-through.
• Orient and train new RCCs, RMAs, and RAs through mentoring and demonstration.
• Provide guidance to RMAs and RAs, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist with EMR training, order verification, and onboarding of new employees.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor responses, and adhere to infection control policies.
• Confer with residents' physicians regarding medication administration concerns.
• Maintain daily resident records, documenting medication distribution, health observations, and any changes.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medication supply room.
• Provide direct resident care following the Resident Assistant Job Description.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and resident requests, ensuring safety and support.
• Encourage teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Assist DRC with staffing, scheduling, and coverage.
• Coordinate assignments for RAs and RMAs, and manage daily staffing sheets.
• Help create staffing schedules and communicate changes.
