Job summary

The Aspenwood Company in Houston, TX seeks a compassionate Resident Assistant to support seniors in an Independent and Assisted Living community with Memory Care. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, and social activities, while promoting dignity and independence.

Full-time position requiring weekend and holiday availability; benefits include 401K match, PTO, healthcare options, and a $250 signing bonus, with additional bonuses after 30 and 60 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
