Job summary

First American is seeking a Default Loan Servicing Specialist – Asset Management to support REO liquidation across USDA, VA, and Asset channels, with FHA Post Sale workflows. This role requires hybrid work: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

You will coordinate activation processes, valuations, occupancy checks, and closing workflows, while monitoring preservation requirements and vendor communications. Cross-functional collaboration and regulatory compliance are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience in property preservation, REO, asset management, or default servicing.
• Familiarity with USDA, VA, and FHA post-sale processes.
• Strong knowledge of MSP, LoanSphere, Yardi/P260, FHA Connection.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience handling multiple loan types.
• Vendor oversight experience.
• Understanding of REO valuation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• REO Liquidation Support: activation processes, MSP updates, occupancy checks, broker assignments, valuation ordering.
• Monitor preservation requirements and vendor communications.
• Support Cash-for-Keys workflows for occupied REO assets.
• Review valuations and support claim processes.
• Manage REO closing workflows.
• FHA Post Sale Workflow Coverage: conveyance timelines, HUD claim readiness, CWCOT/2nd Chance reviews, eviction coordination, Title Curative reviews.
• Compliance & Documentation: maintain accurate loan documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, apply policy updates.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: support multiple teams, communicate risks and escalations, participate in audits and billing rule refinement.
