Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Rendering Infrastructure team to build scalable, GPU-accelerated sensor simulation systems that feed production AV interfaces. You will work across rendering, simulation, perception, and infrastructure, focusing on deterministic execution, low-latency transport, and multi-world rendering on a single GPU.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in performance-critical systems.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) and Python for tooling/automation.
• Strong Linux systems programming and IPC, multithreading, memory management.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more system areas connecting renderer to AV stack and clusters.
• Integrate with Gymnasium-style environments and PyTorch-based models for deterministic execution at scale.
• Improve runtime deployment and asset delivery with compact, reliable packaging.
• Build memory-efficient multi-world/multi-scenario execution in a single rendering process.
• Optimize GPU memory footprint and scheduling for high FPS per GPU across workers.
• Profile, validate, and document performance and reproducibility goals.
